Would you like to build a successful health coaching business without feeling stressed out?

You love being a health coach, but maybe you’re unsure where to focus your time to grow your business.

I know there are many health coaches that feel pretty overwhelmed, so if you’re feeling this way too, you’re not alone.

In this article, I’m going to outline three major areas where you can focus your time and effort to start seeing results. Let’s keep it simple and focus on the things that will give you the biggest return for your energy. Pick one of these strategies to focus on at a time (2 if you’re an overachiever) and kick up your productivity while decreasing your stress.

Here are some ideas to get you started.

#1 – Focus on building your email list: this is no longer optional, and you can totally automate the process.

Why is this so important? Your email list gives you your targeted audience at your fingertips. When people sign up for your free offer or they opt-in for your newsletter, it’s because they want the information you are providing.

The bigger your email list, the more people you can offer value to, build trust with, and occasionally offer your programs and services to. This does take time to set up initially, but once it’s in place, it will continue to help you with your business every day, every week, every month. You can grow your list on autopilot!

Consistency is key; promote your free offer two to three times each week on social media.   Switch up your free offer a few times a year to appeal to a variety of interests (and see which ones get the best results). For example: Offer an eGuide one time, then do a seasonal recipe guide another time, and then perhaps offer something like a healthy pantry checklist or video series.

Running targeted ads on Facebook for your free offer can be an extremely effective way to build your email list. You can start out spending as little as $5 – $10 per day. Yes, you need to spend money to advertise if you want to have a PROFITABLE business. Do your research on how to run targeted Facebook ads first, so that you don’t waste money on ads that are not targeting the right audience for you.

Your opt-in (free offer) should include a series of 5-10 follow-up emails (autoresponders) that are scheduled to go out automatically after people sign up. These emails can be scheduled anywhere from 2-5 days apart depending on how many you’re sending.

#2 – Social media is great, but think about how you can network out in the ‘real’ world.

Do you know people at your church, synagogue, school or a civic organization?

You could offer a group program (online or live) and then offer to donate a percentage of your sales as a fundraiser. Win-win-win; people get healthier, the church gets a percentage, and you earn income (not to mention some of the group participants will probably want to work with you 1-on-1).

Offer a live workshop or class

Find referral partners in your area.

Who do you know that would be a good reciprocal referral partner?   Examples of this would include; chiropractors, naturopathic doctors, massage therapists, and other health, fitness and wellness professionals.

Don’t be afraid to let people know what you have to offer, and how you can help each other provide more value and support for clients.

#3 – Spread the word and expand your reach!

You can kick off a 30-Day online challenge that focuses on weekly healthy habits. This is a great business builder because people get to work with you in a lower-cost format to get a sample of what you do as a health coach. Once people know, like and trust you, they are MUCH more likely to commit to a longer-term coaching program.  You can design your challenge to include weekly email content, a Facebook support group and more.  If you don’t have time to create your own challenge program, you can get this one that’s all done for you. Easy breezy!

I hope these ideas get the creative juices flowing to get you started. Pick ONE thing to start on this week, and then once that first piece is in place, move onto the next one.

You can totally ROCK a profitable business once you have a good plan (and some great tools) in place!

Write down your plan and check off tasks as they are completed. Just take the first step for now, and keep the momentum going.
